My daughter had been wanting to try this place so we came for her birthday. It's a small menu, which I like, and everything is served family style so it's a really great experience with a small group. The hostess, and servers were great, and the food was phenomenal. It felt like a pretty high end experience to us. Even the plating and presentation was on point. Highly recommend!

The staff is top notch. We were greeted by Deron immediately and he gave us the run down on the restaurant and his favorite menu items. You can tell when the front of house cares and it’s so rare to find. These folks pride themselves on being professional and the passion is evident. Japanese farm to table restaurant that truly delivers. From the ambiance to the food this place is stellar. Definitely a top pick for Japanese in Charlotte. Finding a spot like this as a Japanese American is so special. Could not ask for a better dining experience. Thank you all!! Perry you’re the man. Cheers to you and the American dream. Deron

Everything was we had here was delicious. The hot honey chicken was a perfect combo of spicy, sweet and umami. The grouper was cooked perfectly and was fantastic as well. Kenzie was a great host and was really helpful explaining the menu. Overall great experience.

From the moment we walked in until the moment we walked out, everything was exceptional! We called ahead because we were making the drive from Fort Mill, and the hostess was kind enough to put our name on the list so that when we arrived, two seats were waiting for us. That level of hospitality set the tone for the entire evening. Deron was our bartender and server, and he was absolutely fantastic. He made recommendations, shared his personal favorites along with the restaurant’s best sellers, and educated us about the restaurant and how they source everything they serve. His knowledge and passion for what they do were evident throughout the entire experience. Watching how the kitchen operated was equally impressive. The professionalism, attention to detail, and craftsmanship were on full display. This is not just a restaurant with great food. It is truly an art form. I brought my husband here for Father’s Day, and there is honestly not a single thing I would have changed about our experience. In my opinion, this is easily one of the best, if not the best, restaurants in Charlotte right now. What a wow experience!

If I could give Dozo 1000 stars, I would…. Small space (no reservations), but 100% worth it. The service was stellar—Andrew took amazing care of us and made the whole experience feel seamless and fun. The food? Some of the best I’ve had—thoughtful, creative, and packed with flavor: 🥔 Potato salad — loaded with flavor and topped with little crispy bits that made it next level 🦀 Chips and dip — superb; the dip was packed with crab without being overpowering 🥦 Sesame broccoli- the sauce had such great texture, and the broccoli was cooked perfectly. 🍣 Smashed spicy tuna — incredibly fresh and light 🐑 Lamb kushiyaki — so tender with an amazing sauce that really brought everything together. So tender too. You didn’t even need a knife. 🍗 Hot honey Karaage was absolutely delicious. So super crispy and had great texture. The sauce that came with it was out of this world! 🍚 Crab fried rice — honestly one of the best things I’ve eaten in Charlotte. Perfectly cooked with blue crab, pork belly, and mushrooms… a trifecta of unbelievable Every single dish hit. Truly a standout!!! I’m already planning my next visit lol…
